Helpful Information for Patients on the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)
The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) is now open to eligible Canadians nationwide. Adults aged 18–64 who meet federal eligibility requirements, including having no access to dental insurance and a family income under $90,000, may apply. To be eligible, patients must:
- Have no access to any dental insurance (including employer, pension, student, private, or spousal coverage)
- Have an adjusted family net income under $90,000
- Have filed the previous year’s Canadian income tax return
- Be a Canadian resident for tax purposes
Applications for the Canadian Dental Care Plan are currently open year-round and must be submitted directly through the Government of Canada. Covered services may include dental cleanings, exams, X-rays, fillings, extractions, dentures, and other essential dental services, subject to federal guidelines, frequency limits, and preauthorization requirements.
Already enrolled? CDCP coverage must be renewed annually using your most recent tax information to maintain eligibility.
